GTA 5 next gen is is nearly here for Xbox One, PS4 and PC, but I know what you’re thinking: “I already own GTA 5. Everyone in the world already owns GTA 5. I think it’s the law? Why would I buy it again.”
Good question! Here are five new things the makers of Grand Theft Auto 5 think will convince you to give them the other half of all the world’s money. Among them are cats, orcas, railguns, new songs and a new submarine. Rumours of a first-person mode, meanwhile, are tantalising but unconfirmed.
The power of next gen consoles is going to allow for a higher resolution, as well as superior textures, better damage effects and a much larger draw distance, meaning you will be able to see right to the horizon, barring Los Santos smog.
The increased processing power of the new consoles also enables denser vehicle and pedestrian traffic. Because if there’s one thing a thinly fictionalised version of Los Angeles needs, it’s more traffic.
To sweeten the deal, Rockstar is also throwing a stack of additional content at people who already own GTA 5 and upgrade to the next gen version. This includes new vehicles, new weapons and new challenges, including a murder mystery for Michael. In this you will unravel cryptic clues to solve a case and be rewarded with two film noir-style filters for your single player game and Snapmatic pictures.
GTA 5 next comes comes out on November 18 for Xbox One and PS4.
